Whimsical:

Unusual in a playful or amusing way : not serious.

There are a lot of annoying, stressful, or disheartening things that appear in our lives. There are many ways to help cope with these issues, and there is one way that I believe is quite effective.

Being whimsical.

Allowing oneself to embrace and be amused by what is unusual, weird, or downright silly can be freeing.

This portfolio aims to do just that: amuse you. Each of these pieces are derived from many different points of inspiration. Shows, games, movies, personal experiences, all of it takes from great influences in my life There is very little coherence in this exhibition, save for it all being whimsical to some degree. While some pieces may have a deeper meaning than others, don’t read too much into it. My goal is to make you laugh to yourself, be confused with what you are seeing, or just be mildly intrigued. The titles of these pieces work to do that as well. Some of these titles are inside jokes, or just completely nonsensical. I implore you to read them, just to experience their absurdity.

So please, let go of any preconceived ideas of what this portfolio is or represents. Have fun with this, interact with the pieces, and embrace the silliness.

My hope is that by the end of your time here, you will learn to leave room for whimsy in your life.
